Passion for Watches - Antoni N. Patek

PASSION FOR WATCHES – Antoni N. Patek is an event devoted to the legacy of Antoni Norbert Patek and to the wider history of craft, enterprise and prestige in nineteenth-century Europe. The festival combined educational, exhibition, workshop and commercial strands, creating a space for exchanging knowledge about the economic and social history of the age.

The programme included lectures, panels, workshops and exhibitions. Beniamin Czapla’s talk places Patek’s biography in the context of Polish enterprise in exile – showing how the history of a firm and brand is also the history of economy and society in the 19th century.

For listeners interested not only in watches but also in the Great Emigration and biography, the event is a chance to see Patek as an entrepreneur, organiser and participant in the social networks of the Polish diaspora.
